SYMPOSIUM ON TEACHING TECHNIQUES

Continental Group of Institutes conducted a symposium on “Innovative and Effective Teaching Techniques” on 27 January 2011. Former Chief Secretary of Punjab, Sh. A. S. Chatha was the special guest of occasion. Sh. Chatha emphasized that the need of the hour is not only to equip masses with education but also to provide them with the knowledge that helps them survive and earn a living. Dr. R. S. Ghuman, Professor Economics, Punjabi University quoted that a teacher should teach the students the ways of catching the fish rather than handing over the fish. Col. B. S. Sandhu, Chairman, Continental Group of Institutes expressed that an ideal teacher is the one who is the role model of the students, the one who not only teaches but inspires the students. Gen B. P. S. Grewal, Executive Director (CGI) and Dr. R. S. Tathgir, Director, GRDIET Bhatinda, also shared their views on the topic.
